TDH and ISP are excited to share the successful completion of our inaugural in-person training session of 2025 in Vietnam, conducted in partnership with Vietsovpetro. This event was particularly meaningful as it marked Alain Gysen’s first visit to Vietnam, where he served as the Manager at Interpretive Software Consulting and a Consultant for Interpretive Software Products, Inc. Upon invitation from TDH, he joined us in executing this significant project.
The five-day training course focused on enhancing expertise in the PLATO software, with a particular emphasis on Fiber Optics, and saw participation from various learners at VSP. The curriculum included in-depth sessions on the DAS and DTS modules, as well as our DAS preprocessor, SP2S. Participants engaged with theoretical content on DFOS acquisition, data processing software, interpretation techniques, and an introduction to visualization tools. Real-world case studies were also discussed, covering probabilistic modeling, leakage detection, and crossflow identification.
Practical components of the training included:
– Setting up a logging system and conducting logging in a test well.
– Assembling and maintaining fiber optic rope sockets and downhole toolstrings.
– Procedures for fishing fiber optic cables.
At the end of the course, participants completed a final assessment, and certification was awarded to those who passed.
