Successful Maintenance of the HAAKE Viscotester 550 (VT-550) – Thermo Fisher in 2024

In 2024, TDH Hi-Tech carried out comprehensive repair and maintenance services for the HAAKE Viscotester 550 (VT-550), manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific. This instrument is a rotational viscometer, widely used in quality control thanks to its ability to precisely measure the viscosity and rheological properties of liquids and semi-solid materials.

 

Maintenance and Repair Tasks:

  • Resolved the issue of unstable circulator operation, where the thermal relay was tripping continuously during temperature stabilization.

  • Replaced the silicone oil in the circulator and installed new fuses of the correct specification to ensure system safety.

  • Inspected and serviced all control boards, display boards, and the connections between the PC – viscotester – circulator.

  • Maintained connections to the instrument head and temperature module, and checked the heat transfer fluid.

  • Refilled the coolant for the cooler and replaced unreliable thermal relays for the heaters.

  • Calibrated the measuring head using standard solutions provided by the manufacturer, and verified the full temperature range of the instrument.
