TDH SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES SERVICE OF CASING RUNNING BY CRT FOR CLIENT VIETSOVPETRO
Recently, TDH, in partnership with international contractor EXPRO, has successfully completed the “Service of casing running by CRT for well 2106-BK21” on the Tam Dao 05 rig , operated by the Vietsovpetro (VSP) joint venture. The service was concluded with an outstanding safety and efficiency record, once again affirming TDH’s capabilities and position in delivering high-tech oilfield solutions.

The scope of work for the BH2106-BK21 well required running a 9-5/8″ casing string to a target depth of 3,876.26 meters. This is a critical operation that demands high precision and efficiency, particularly under complex wellbore conditions.
To execute this service, the TDH-EXPRO deployed the advanced FX-600 Casing Running Tool (CRT) system. This technology is a fully mechanized solution integrated directly with the rig’s Top Drive System (TDS). The solution offers significant advantages over conventional casing running methods:
Enhanced Safety: The entire process of gripping, making up, and running the casing is automated, completely eliminating the use of manual tongs in the hazardous “red zone”. This significantly mitigates occupational risks for personnel.
Time and Cost Savings: CRT technology enables simultaneous operations, such as running, rotating, and circulating drilling fluid. This capability significantly reduces operational time, thereby optimizing the well construction schedule.
Improved Well Integrity and Quality: The ability to rotate the casing string while running facilitates passage through challenging wellbore sections and improves the quality of the subsequent cement job.

Throughout the operation, the engineering teams from TDH and EXPRO collaborated closely with the client, Vietsovpetro, from the planning and rig-up phases through to execution. A total of 343 casing joints were successfully run to the target depth. The entire service was completed with an impeccable safety record, with no Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) incidents reported.
